For those of you who do not know, I quit my job this summer at the publishing company and started my own business in invitations and stationery — Syd Design. Business has been going well with little advertising and a lot of word-of-mouth, but I was ready to really take the next step, which meant focusing full time on this venture.

It was definitely a good time to do so as I was able to get my stuff together to do handouts for the Grand Rapids Wedding Affair, which got out 300 samples and coupons for me. I was also somehow able to get a booth together in time for the Fall Bridal Show of Grand Rapids. It was a fantastic opportunity for me to promote myself directly to brides in this area. I ended up handing out 600 pieces of information and filled up about 10 pages in my guestbook. There were lots of interested Brides and Moms that I am very much looking forward to working with in 2009!

Unfortunately I didn't get great photos of the booth b/c it was constantly busy - but here are some shots of prep and setup that should give you a good idea of what it looked like.

Thank you Tracy and Beth for all your help manning the booth, Mac for helping setup and tear down (twice), mom and dad for helping with the architecture of the booth, and Kim, Sara, Tracy & Mac for helping me envision how to successfully display my work! I am SO thankful and grateful to have so much love and support all around me as I take on this new venture!!
