Who doesn't like 4-day weekends?
Wow what a 4-day weekend this has been...we have been out on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday to climb or hike...and we are now quite tired.
Thursday we got out to the crag around 1pm and it was quite packed...we sat around for awhile waiting to get on a climb or two until we realized we forgot some of our gear in our closet at our apt, and our whole day of climbing just got shut down…so we decided to do some fun
bouldering to make our day some what of a success. We returned home to clean up and head off to a buffet for our thanksgiving dinner at Green Valley Ranch resort and casino. Once we located the buffet at the casino we found out that we had to wait three hours before we could even get into the line, and once in the line, we had an additional hour and a half wait until we could get in to eat. But once we got in, the food was great, and we had a very good time.
Friday was quite boring while I sat at home all day while Abbey was at worked. Saturday brought us back out to Red Rocks where we did some light climbing and had a good time venturing around the Sand Stone Query while trying to find the crag we were trying to find...but once we arrived it was quite empty and we took care of some business and I reaffirmed my hate of climbing on surfaces that has no places for your feet besides for smearing.
Sunday we decided to go do another short day hike into the southern side of the loop where neither of us had been before, the hike was cool and we found some really neat looking multi-pitch climbs that we could probably attempt early next year…but we will have to wait and see on that. On the way out of the parking lot we had a small encounter with some
desert donkeys that came right up to my truck window...it was sooo weird...they are quite friendly to say the lease.
We are getting pretty hyped about coming home and the holiday season in general even though it really doesn’t feel/look anything like winter here...but I’m sure it will once we arrive back east.
