Climb much?
Well this weekend was fun, we participated in a climbing competition to benefit ovarian cancer research...so it wasn’t really a competition, but it was a good time. A large number of the routes in the gym marked with the amount of feet that route was worth...so a 5.9 route was something like 150 feet, and upwards to 5.11/5.12 being over 300 feet. Some boulder problems were also marked to keep me interested. So we spent all day Saturday climbing climbing climbing, and more climbing. We arrived at the gym around 9:30am and started climbing with some little breaks scattered in here and there, and just kept climbing till 4pm, logging around 27 routes/boulder problems each, something over 6,000 feet each...needless to say we were totally worn out by the time we left, but we got a couple of neat tee-shirts, and other little comp prizes, all in all it was a good time for a good cause, but neither of us have climbed so much in one day.
Outside of that, the weather has been really nice here and we are going to try to get out and climb more out at red rocks, in Jeff’s words we just need to “climb the sh.. out of Vegas while we are here” and we both think that is a great idea…We have started to mingle with some of the other people at the gym. Hopefully we can start climbing with them a bit and maybe find some more cool spots for those of you who will be coming out for spring break ;) (hint hint)
And since Bill finally sent me my old mail the GVSU climbing center will be receiveing a few posters from us signed by Chris Sharma, Katie Brown, and a few other professional climbers...just to add to the gyms collection.
